Austurkot is a horse farm situated in the south of Iceland, only 55 km from the city of Reykjavik and 3 km from the town of Selfoss. The owners are both certified horse trainers and riding teachers (FT). They have been professional trainers for almost 10 years and prominent in the field of horse competition.

At Austurkot there is a training center for the icelandic horse, horse-breeding, sales service and caring for horses. We train horses all year round and guests are welcome to visit us to become acquainted with our facilities, our horses and training methods. We have good facilities for housing and training of stallions and we always keep promising foals in our stables during the winter.

At Austurkot we strive to have all types of the icelandic horse for sale. We offer professional assistance in finding the right horse for each rider, even if that particular horse is not to be found in our stables. We will contact other reliable sellers and reputable horse farms and try to find the horse for you. We have experience in selecting horses for the most competitive, experienced horseman as well as the enthusiastic novice.

Hrammur from Þóreyjarnúpur, A-finals in tölt at the World championships in Norway 1997.
Blaer from Sigluvík,World champion in tölt 2 in Germany 1999.
Blaer from Minni-Borg, A-finals in 5-gait at the World championships in Germany 1999.
Dugur from Minni-Borg, one of the highest judged stallions in Sweden.
Bruni from Súluholt, A-finals in 4-gait at the Nordic championships in Norway 2000.
Ísak from Eyjólfsstaðir, Nordic champion in 5-gait and tölt 2 in Norway 2000.
Súla frá Bjarnastöðum, B-finals (A-flokkur gaedingar) at Landsmót in Reykjavik 2000.

We have given riding courses in Sweden and Finland and we welcome inquiries about giving courses, either at our horse farm in Iceland or in other locations abroad.
